REQUIREMENTS

The New Brunswick Express Entry Stream provides an opportunity for eligible individuals to apply for permanent residency in the province of New Brunswick, Canada. To be eligible for this program, the following requirements must be met:

1. Completion of Studies:

The applicant must have completed their studies in the past six months and are currently living and seeking employment in New Brunswick OR they must be a graduate student (Master's or Ph.D.) enrolled in thesis-based programs, who may apply once their thesis has been officially submitted for evaluation.

In order to be eligible, applicants must have completed a one-year degree, diploma, or certificate program.

2. Work Experience:

The applicant must have at least one year of full-time paid work experience or an equivalent amount of part-time work. The work experience must be in one of the designated NOC TEER categories (TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3), and can be in Canada or abroad. The work experience must be in the same type of job as the one the applicant intends to use for their immigration application.

This work experience must be paid work and applicants can meet the one-year of continuous work experience in several ways:

  • Full-time at one job: 30 hours/week for 12 months

  • Full time at more than one job: 30 hours/week for 12 months at more than one job

  • Equal amount at a part-time job: 15 hours/week for 24 months.

3. Language Testing:

All applicants must have a valid language test in either English or French, that was administered by a designated IRCC testing agency and that is less than 18 months old at the time of application. The applicant must have a minimum score equal to or greater than CLB 7 for English or NCLC 7 for French. Acceptable language tests include:

  • IELTS General Training,

  • CELPIP,

  • TEF CANADA, and

  • TCF pour le Canada.

4. Education:

For applicants who have not graduated from a Canadian institution, a copy of an Educational Credential Assessment must be provided by a designated organization. These organizations include:

* The Comparative Education Service,

* International Credential Assessment Service of Canada,

* World Education Services,

* International Qualifications Assessment Service,

* International Credential Evaluation Service,

* Medical Council of Canada,

* and Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada.

Applicants who have completed their education in Canada do not need an educational credential assessment.

We have had a number of international students who have contacted us in the past to explore study options with the end goal of securing a PR status. This was one of our interesting approvals

5. Intent to Reside in New Brunswick:

The applicant must have a genuine intention to live and work in the province of New Brunswick. If an offer of employment is accepted from a company that does not have a business location in New Brunswick, the application will be refused and the nomination certificate revoked.

6. Job Offer from a New Brunswick Employer:

An applicant does not need to have a job offer from a New Brunswick employer when applying for the Express Entry Stream as a student. However, if the application is submitted six months after the completion of their studies, the applicant must be working for a New Brunswick employer to apply for the NB Express Entry Stream.

7. Proof of Funds:

Bank statements showing the last 6 months of transaction history are mandatory for all applicants. Applicants who are Open Work Permit holders with a minimum of one year of work experience in Canada (in TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3) are exempt from the requirement of settlement funds. However, if all Canadian Experience Class Program requirements are not met, the applicant must provide proof of funds.
