Client Success Story: How Nife Became a Permanent Resident of Canada in Under 3 Months

canadian Experience class - express entry approval

At InfoPlace Canada, we know that every Canadian immigration journey is unique. But some stories remind us just how powerful timing, preparation, and expert guidance can be.

Today, we’re spotlighting Nife, a 24-year-old Applied Research Scientist, whose permanent residence application under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) was approved in just under three months. And the best part? It all happened after a bold—but smart—decision to decline his first Invitation to Apply (ITA).

The First ITA: A Costly Timing Mistake

When Nife first contacted InfoPlace Canada in October 2024, he had just received an ITA through Express Entry with a strong Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 539.

At first glance, it seemed like everything was aligned. But during his In-Canada PR Consultation, our team uncovered a major issue: Nife had claimed full-time work experience from September to December 2023, during which he was still a student.

This is where many get caught—IRCC does not count any work experience gained while studying toward the one-year minimum requirement for Canadian Experience Class.

We broke the news honestly:

“You’re not eligible yet. But you’re very close. Let’s get the timing right.”

With our guidance, Nife made the tough decision to decline the ITA—a choice that ultimately set him up for long-term success.

The Second ITA: Fully Eligible and Ready to Go

Fast forward to February 5, 2025—just a few months later—Nife received another ITA. This time, his profile was fully eligible under the CEC category, with no proof of funds required:

  • 1 year of Canadian work experience as a Data Scientist (NOC 21211)

  • 1 year and 11 months of foreign work experience

  • CLB 10 on IELTS

  • Master of Engineering from the University of Waterloo

  • CRS score: 539

Why Nife’s PR Application Worked

Nife’s success wasn’t just about qualifications—it was about strategy. Here’s what set his case apart:

  • He waited until his CEC eligibility was solid.

  • He followed expert legal advice.

  • He had strong documentation for both Canadian and foreign work experience.

  • He overcame challenges like living in Quebec during his application (which required a declaration of intent to reside outside Quebec).

  • He used remote work for a foreign employer as a freelancer—something many applicants struggle to present properly.

We ensured every detail was IRCC-compliant and submitted a clean, complete application that needed no additional clarification.
