Finally Canada is opening up to the rest of the world and is allowing American citizens and permanent residents, who are currently residing in the United States, and have been fully vaccinated at least 14 days prior to entering Canada for non-essential travel as of August 9th . Tourists from other parts of the world can begin to come in from September 7th, 2021.
If you are coming to Canada it is essential you check off your list as regards COVID-19 measures.
1. If you have been fully vaccinated you can now skip quarantine. But you still have to do pre-arrival and on-arrival testing.
2. If you have not been vaccinated, you must still be quarantined for 14 days. Even if you are arriving with fully vaccinated travellers.
3. You must submit all the necessary COVID-19 information to ArriveCAN before travelling.
4. You need a paper or digital copy of your proof of vaccination, and a quarantine plan if not fully vaccinated.

6. If you test positive after having recovered from COVID-19, you would be required to provide a positive test taken between 14 and 90 days before their departure.
7. Although the border opened up to approved permanent residents, it continues to be closed to non-essential travel. These border restrictions are currently in place until July 21.
Effective August 9, 2021, international flights carrying passengers will be permitted to land at the following five additional Canadian airports:
Halifax Stanfield International Airport
Québec City Jean Lesage International Airport
Ottawa Macdonald–Cartier International Airport
Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport
Edmonton International Airport
This is in addition to:
Toronto Pearson International Airport
Montréal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport
Calgary International Airport
And Vancouver International Airport that has been operating prior to now.
