To address the growing labor shortages in key sectors, the Government of Saskatchewan has introduced two new immigration pathways under the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). Announced on August 30, 2024, these pathways are designed to attract skilled international workers to fill in-demand jobs in the agriculture and healthcare industries.
Agriculture Talent Pathway
The new Agriculture Talent Pathway targets the growing demand for skilled labor in this critical sector. "Labor shortages are a constraint to growth for agricultural producers," said David Marit, Minister of Agriculture. The new pathway aims to ensure Saskatchewan continues to lead in global food production.
The following agricultural and related occupations are eligible through this stream:
NOC | Description |
75101 | Material handlers* |

85100 | Livestock labourers |

Completion of secondary school or higher education.
Relevant work experience within the past three years, or six months of full-time work with the employer who provided the Job Approval Letter.
A commitment to live and work in Saskatchewan as a permanent resident.
This pathway is open to candidates outside Canada or those with legal status in the country.
Health Talent Pathway
The healthcare sector in Saskatchewan is facing similar challenges, with a growing need for skilled workers to meet the demands of a rapidly expanding population. The Health Talent Pathway, part of the province’s Health Human Resources (HHR) action plan, aims to consolidate and streamline recruitment through the SINP, making it easier for healthcare employers to hire qualified international workers.
Here’s how the two routes break down:
Non-Express Entry Route:

Applicants need relevant work experience and, where applicable, Saskatchewan licensing.
