The province of New Brunswick is addressing its healthcare worker shortage with a recent letter of intent signed with Indonesia, marking a pivotal moment in the province’s strategy to recruit qualified nurses and nursing aides.

With an inaugural recruitment mission planned for the fall, and a comprehensive memorandum of understanding is expected in 2025 this partnership aims to establish a framework for the recruitment, training, and deployment of Indonesian healthcare professionals in New Brunswick.

A Focus on Nursing

New Brunswick offers a variety of opportunities for

  • Registered Nurses (RNs),

  • Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs)

  • Personal Support Workers (PSWs).

These roles are essential in both acute and community settings, including hospitals, health centers, clinics, public health, addiction and mental health services, and nursing homes.

Opportunities for Internationally Educated Nurses

New Brunswick has a strong track record of welcoming internationally educated nurses (IENs). Over 1,300 IENs have been recruited since 2019, with expedited licensing pathways available for nurses trained in 14 countries.

If you are an IEN interested in working in New Brunswick, the province offers navigation services to guide you through the accreditation and licensure process.
