List of institutions and resources where you can learn French in Nigeria

It's time to brush up those French language skills!! It’ll not only get you to Canada by increasing your EE points but also increase your employability especially with federal jobs.

The next question is where are some of the best places to learn the language?

We have compiled a list of places to learn French Language, if you reside in Nigeria.

1. Institut français du Nigéria in Abuja or in one of the Alliance Française in Maiduguri, Jos, Kaduna, Ilorin, Ibadan, Lagos, Port Harcourt, Owerri or Enugu.

This is an international organization set out to teach French language and promote French culture worldwide. Fees range from N6,000 to 35,000 depending on the number of hours per week

2. The Nigerian French Language Village

The institution is located in Aajara, Badagry, Lagos. It welcomes students from all universities in Nigeria for a year language immersion it also offers diploma programs and short term programs. Estimated Fee is between N50,000 to N150,000 per course.

3. Nigerian Tertiary institutions

Apart from offering French language as a course most Nigerian Universities and colleges of Education also have special programs that may suit your needs.

Some of them offer three months certificate courses and diplomas different from their regular degree awarding programs.

4. Online Resources

There are enough websites out there that teach French Language online.

Where can you take the French test

At Alliance Française in Lagos and in Port Harcourt, you can sit for 2 different tests: the TEF (from CCIP) and the TCF (from CIEP), both required for immigration or studies to Canada and France. A test is valid for 2 years.
